To encourage women to develop and improve important life skills and reach their full potentials by providing opportunities for personal development, scholarships, advocacy, service, and networking.

The American Pageants Mission

An Academic-Based Pageant with Decades of History

Originally founded in 1983 under the name “Miss Teen of America”, American Pageants (AP) has empowered thousands of women and girls across the country to reach their full potentials. With unique judging criteria designed by founder Warren Alexander, a seasoned educator and pageant director, AP’s selection process echoes that of colleges and scholarship committees with an added pageant flair.

All AP titleholders—whether they’re a 7-year-old “Little Miss” or a well-established “Ms.”—are passionate leaders and change-makers in their schools, their communities, and beyond. AP is dedicated to providing a stage, a platform, and continuous support for these incredible women and girls to celebrate their personal achievements while building confidence and polishing important life skills.

Accent on Achievement

Much more than just a tagline, “Accent of Achievement” represents AP’s commitment to celebrating the successes of our candidates and titleholders. By providing a supportive platform and network of like-minded individuals, AP empowers our titleholders to make a difference in their communities while striving for personal excellence on their own terms.

National Staff

AP staff is composed 100% of dedicated volunteers, many of whom are previous titleholders or alumni!
